Project description

The APHI-RWA project in support of the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) in Rwanda is part of a wider project proposed as part of the Global Gateway Health Package presented at the 6e EU-AU summit. It is aimed at establishing or strengthening the performance of African public health institutes by providing training and supporting research facilities.

It has 4 objectives: (1) to contribute to the health and well-being of the Rwandese population (SDG 3) through the provision of multiple public health services by high-performing state health entities; (2) to establish/strengthen regional and international links between African and European Institutes of Public Health (IPHs) in order to develop research, training, policy advice and advocacy; (3) to support the functions, attributes, and core services of Rwandese schools and Institutes of public health (national level); and (4) to support the strengthening of the digital health capacity of national PHIs.
