Four high-capacity generators for Kyiv's heat supply infrastructure were procured and delivered within just two weeks of a request from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
With a total capacity of 1.62 MW, the generators have been handed over to the municipal utility company Kyivteploenergo. This assistance will also be vital in the upcoming heating seasons, as restoring damaged critical infrastructure will require sustained time and effort.
The generators, along with mobile and modular boiler units and the restoration of CHPP turbines, are part of comprehensive assistance provided by Enabel. To date, more than €28 million has been allocated to support these initiatives through the BE-Relieve Ukraine programme. These investments in new equipment and repairs result in a total power output of 190 MW of electricity and 123 MW of heat.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko: “This is more than just equipment. It is timely support that strengthens the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system at a time when our critical infrastructure continues to face relentless attacks. We sincerely thank our Belgian partners for their solidarity with Ukraine, for their trust, and for their commitment not only to express support, but to back it up with concrete action.”
