Project summary

The TP SP UGA project, Thematic Portfolio Social Protection in Central Africa aims to increase Decent Work and Social Protection for vulnerable people (youth and women) in the Great Lakes region of Uganda. It builds on the strategic framework of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), by improving 4 pillars for Decent Job creation whilst promoting policy development and regional learning. It aims to make steps towards the formalisation of informal workers.

Improving the living conditions and resilience of the most vulnerable populations in the Great Lakes region is made possible by investing in social protection systems and decent work, and by contributing to the promotion of their sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development.

General objective

Specific objective

A - Women and young people of working age in the Great Lakes region have an increased opportunity to engage in decent work, are better protected by labour rights and benefit from social protection and more inclusive social dialogue
