Enabel hosted a delegation from the Chernihiv region, Ukraine, in Belgium. The purpose of the study visit was to help Ukrainian partners find new tools to strengthen their institutions on their path to sustainable recovery and EU accession.

During the 10-day visit, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, the Chernihiv City Council, and local businesses, schools, and employment services explored the Belgian training and employment system.

The participants had a chance to:

• visit training centres in the construction, tech, and hospitality sectors
• discover how creative practices like board games are integrated into the educational process
• learn how Belgian employment services support jobseekers and partner with employers
• transform their learnings into practical solutions during a strategy session

"I was particularly impressed by T2-Campus, a space that unites education, innovation, and labour market demand," shared Yuliia Zaika, co-owner of Solar LLC. "This is an excellent example of partnership between the state, private sector, and educational institutions, providing training for competitive specialists. For Ukraine, this is crucial, especially given the context of rebuilding, developing a skilled workforce, and the need to reimagine vocational education."

"You cannot isolate a particular methodology and implement it in your institution without creating an ecosystem that brings together businesses, government, citizens, and employment centres. First the foundation; then the balcony," added Maksym Podzharyi, director of the Chernihiv Vocational Lyceum of Railway Transport.
