Enabel participated in the Rwanda Global Healthcare Summit 2021

The Rwanda Global Healthcare Summit 2021 took place on 18-20 November 2021 in Kigali under the theme “Global Health Delivery, introduction of new ideas and digital innovation”.

The purpose of the Rwanda Global Healthcare Summit was to enhance the quality of life by raising awareness through educative and informative health conferences.

In his opening remarks, Dirk Deprez, Resident Representative of Enabel in Rwanda said "stepping into manufacturing of health products & technologies in Africa not only represents an equity opportunity to assure better access to universal health, but also to job and wealth creation."
“Support can go well beyond the support to the regulatory authority, Government and development partners are willing to derisk investments, by supporting access to finance and guarantee funds, to support the development of bankable projects, but also by supporting training for staff, boosting the right TVET and university trainings to build the local workforce needed.” He added.

Enabel’s Health team members played a big role in the summit. They shared with participants presentations in relation with Enabel’s interventions in the health sector.

The 3-day summit brought together Enabel and partners staff from Rwanda Biomedical Center, Ministry of Health, University of Rwanda and other health practitioners. Enabel Health team covered various topic, from digital health to near-miss audits in Rwanda, data quality in maternal health program, mental health and drug and substance abuse amongst adolescents in 7 districts of Rwanda.

Aside from the conferences, Enabel participated in the exhibition with a booth where the work in the health sector in Rwanda over the past years was shown, such as the building of Nyarugenge District hospital, the NCDs campaigns, the current health program etc.
