General objective
The health system of Lao PDR is more effective and provides quality health care to as much of the population as possible in the two provinces of Savannakhet and Vientiane
Specific objective
TO DEVELOP A MODEL OF LOCAL HEALTH SYSTEM ADAPTED TO THE CONTEXT AND LOCAL NEEDS AND TO IMPLEMENT IT AT LEAST ONE SETTING IN EACH OF THE TWO PROVINCES OF VIENTIANE AND SAVANNAKHET
The model of Integrated Community Health Center is further developed and replicated in the two local health systems
The quality of care at the inter-district hospitals in Vang Vieng and Sepone is improved
The capacity of the administration to manage the local health system is improved
Well-trained and competent staff is available for the Integrated Community Health Centers and inter-district hospitals
The efficiency of central and provincial level in the development of health system and in the support to the health sect
Project management & technical assistance
