The overall objective of the NaturAfrica initiative is to tackle biodiversity loss through restoring and protecting a network of protected areas and high value ecosystems and promoting the sustainable management of surrounding landscapes whilst creating decent incomes and jobs in green sectors for local populations.
At regional level, improve cross-border and cross-regional governance, coordination and capacities for conservation and management of transfrontier Key Landscapes for Conversation and Development (KLCDs). The global objective needs to be adapted to the specific context of the Greater-Nyungwe-Kibira-Kabobo region.
