Uganda has remained consistent in its pursuit of poverty eradication as the main priority for national socioeconomic development. The Poverty Eradication Action Plan (PEAP) 2004 has therefore been designed to address this challenge and to consolidate the achievements that have been made in human development. The PEAP reaffirms also the commitment to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
