The SWITCH2 project supports an inclusive transition to a circular economy in East and Southern Africa, focusing on two key sectors: packaging/plastics waste and electronics/e-waste. It promotes regional collaboration through South-South cooperation, peer learning, and joint ventures.
The project aims to create a supportive policy environment for circular economy practices, ensuring governments and institutions are aligned to drive systemic change. It also seeks to increase the participation of formal and informal workers, particularly women and youth, as well as small businesses i§SME's) n circular economy models. Access to finance is another critical focus, with efforts aimed at improving how circular economy businesses secure and utilise funding.
Through these interconnected efforts, SWITCH2 fosters a region-wide shift toward more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient economic systems.
