Au Bénin, Enabel et le Prix Awa ont récemment célébré l'excellence entrepreneuriale des femmes béninoises.

Une formation enrichissante de deux jours a rassemblé une soixantaine d'entrepreneures du secteur agricole. Lors des 4 sessions organisées, les questions qui taraudent le plus les entrepreneures ont été abordées sous forme de partage d'expérience. Un cahier de formation a également été distribué aux participantes afin qu'elles puissent conserver les explications de certains concepts-clefs tels que le personal branding, le marketing digital ou encore les plateformes d'accès aux financements. 

Le premier jour de formation s'est concentré sur le storytelling, le branding personnel, les stratégies d'acquisition de nouvelles compétences et le marketing digital. Il est ressorti des échanges avec les expert.es présent.es que la chose la plus importante dans l'entrepreneuriat est de se connaître soi-même et de faire preuve d'humilité face à ses propres limites en s'entourant de personnes pouvant combler ses propres lacunes. Une fois cela fait, il est en outre nécessaire de se former tout au long de sa carrière afin d'évoluer et de faire croître son entreprise. Les panelistes ont également partagé leurs propres stratégies de communication et ont livré de précieux conseils aux participantes. Parmi ceux-ci, notons l'importance d'établir ses valeurs, d'y rester fidèle et d'être authentique. 

La deuxième journée de formation s'est quant à elle intéressée aux challenges que représente la levée de fonds et l'accès aux financement. Des expert.es issus du monde de la finance et des entrepreneures de premier rang ont partagé avec le public une série de conseils à appliquer dans leurs recherches de financements, ainsi qu'une vaste liste d'institutions à approcher. 

Venues pour certaines de régions reculées du pays et parfois non-francophones, cette formation s’est voulue inclusive et ouverte à toutes celles qui dynamisent leur communauté grâce à leur entreprise.

La formation s’est clôturée en beauté avec la remise du Prix Awa 2023 à deux entrepreneures béninoises, Adétola Adanlawo et Alida Ahouandjinou. Entre discours forts et émotions, les deux lauréates ont partagé leur prix en présence de leur famille et réseaux professionnels. Bravo à elles !

Enabel and the Awa Prize celebrated the business savviness of women entrepreneurs in Benin.

A rewarding two-day training course brought together some sixty women entrepreneurs from the agricultural sector. During the 4 sessions organised, the questions on the minds of women entrepreneurs were addressed by sharing experiences. A training booklet was also distributed to participants so that they could keep track of explanations of key concepts such as personal branding, digital marketing and access to finance platforms.

The first day of training focused on storytelling, personal branding, strategies for acquiring new skills and digital marketing. It emerged from the discussions with the experts present that the most important thing in entrepreneurship is to know oneself and one's own limitations and to surround oneself with people who can fill in the gaps. Once you have done that, you also need to keep learning throughout your career, so that you can develop and grow your business. The panellists also shared their own communication strategies and gave valuable advice to the participants. These include the importance of establishing your values, staying true to them and being authentic.

The second day of training focused on the challenges of fund-raising and accessing finance. Experts from the world of finance and leading women entrepreneurs shared tips to apply when searching for funding and listed many institutions that can be approached.

Some of the women came from remote areas of Benin and some were non-French speakers, so the training was designed to be inclusive and open to all those who are making their communities more dynamic through their businesses.

The training course ended on a high note with the presentation of the 2023 Awa Prize to two women entrepreneurs from Benin, Adétola Adanlawo and Alida Ahouandjinou. Between powerful and emotional speeches, the two winners shared their prizes in the presence of their families and professional networks. Well done to them!
