In Rwanda, sustainable increase in household incomes for farmers and other private actors in agricultural value chains is the main objective of the TREPAM project, Transforming Eastern Province through Adaptation and Mitigation. How can this be achieved? : (1) Empower, incentivise and strengthen the resilience of the local community to plan, restore, maintain, monitor and protect the drought-degraded land and landscapes in the Eastern Province of Rwanda; and (2) Provide ecosystem services through sustainable land management best practices and inclusive businesses.
