As part of the Employment and Livelihoods Project (ELP), Enabel- the Belgian agency for international cooperation, with funding from the European Union, supported the organization of a high-level policy dialogue implemented by Expectation State entitled “From Local Economic Opportunities to Investment Opportunities: Strengthening Linkages Between the Local Economy and Investment in Jordan.”
The dialogue brought together representatives from the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Local Administration, the Cities and Villages Development Bank, and several municipalities from northern Jordan to discuss mechanisms for transforming local economic opportunities into actionable investment opportunities, contributing to local economic development and the creation of sustainable employment opportunities.
This dialogue was the third in a series of policy dialogues implemented under the Employment and Livelihoods Project, which aims to strengthen the capacity of municipalities and national partners to transform local planning outcomes into implementable economic and investment opportunities and link them to Jordan’s national investment ecosystem.
Discussions focused on enhancing integration among stakeholders involved in local development and investment, improving the flow of information related to local economic opportunities, and developing more effective mechanisms for promoting these opportunities and attracting investment to them.
